New Actor Park Sang-jun: "Restoring the Smiles Taken Away by COVID-19"
Comic Play 'Tenoreul Billyeoju' Max
Performing at Daehakro The Good Theater Until the 14th
Rising actor Park Sang-jun showcases his versatile acting skills as Max in the situational comedy play Lend me a Tenor. The play Lend me a Tenor is a comedy that unfolds through conflicts and scandals caused by misunderstandings surrounding the death of the legendary tenor 'Tito.'
Last year, Park Sang-jun delivered a remarkable performance as 'Marius' in the play Les Mis?rables, and now he exudes a different charm in Lend me a Tenor. Park Sang-jun plays Max, the assistant in the opera company who loves the female lead 'Maggie.' In the play, Max takes on the role of the substitute tenor to finish the performance after Tito, the era's greatest tenor, disappears. Tito's fans mistake Max, who excellently performed Tito's role, for the real Tito, leading to many hilarious incidents.
Previously known for his serious roles that connected deeply with the audience, actor Park Sang-jun skillfully navigates comedic situations, enhancing the audience's immersion in Lend me a Tenor. Park Sang-jun unleashes his outstanding sense of humor and talent, which he had not had the chance to showcase before.
Park Sang-jun said, "To perfect the role of Max in Lend me a Tenor, I studied characters with similar vibes from movies, dramas, and cartoons," adding, "it was fun as an actor to prepare for such an attractive and entertaining work."
He continued, "I am grateful to all the actors, directors, and staff who gave me the opportunity and worked with me," and added, "I want to deliver both fun and emotion directly to the audience."
Park Sang-jun, who graduated from university last year, has been on stage through various works since his college days. On days without rehearsals or performances, he starts his day at 6 a.m. with exercise. Believing that physical fitness is essential for an actor, he exercises every day of the year without fail.
He said, "I want to be a good person and actor who has a positive influence through acting," and added, "As a rookie actor, I want to continue my work with the right attitude."
He also emphasized, "Rather than performances that leave regrets, I want to finish each show feeling relieved and moved, always reminding myself of the phrase, 'Be faithful to the process so that you can humbly accept the results.'"
He added, "Although these are difficult times due to COVID-19, I hope that the time spent with Lend me a Tenor will be filled only with joy and laughter."
