Jindo-gun Joins Disaster Relief Fund Distribution... 100,000 Won Each for All Residents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that it will provide an emergency disaster relief fund of 100,000 won to all residents before the Lunar New Year to help all residents suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The county urgently decided to provide the emergency disaster relief fund using contingency funds to comfort the hearts of residents who are struggling and exhausted due to COVID-19 and to revive the stagnant local economy.
The Jindo County Council held the 266th extraordinary session on the 5th and passed an ordinance related to the payment of disaster relief funds to all residents.
Chairperson Park Geum-rye said, “I hope the emergency disaster relief fund paid before the Lunar New Year will be a source of strength for the residents,” and added, “We will continue to strive to alleviate the economic difficulties of residents struggling with COVID-19.”
This extraordinary session reviewed and approved the “Jindo County Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Support Ordinance” and other matters to provide disaster relief funds to residents facing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The recipients of the emergency disaster relief fund are all Jindo residents registered as of February 5, 2021.
During the application period from the 8th to March 31, residents can submit their ID and household application form to the local town or township office of their address to receive Jindo Arirang gift certificates worth 100,000 won per household member.
On the 8th, when applications are expected to be concentrated, the county plans to operate visiting reception services where public officials will visit village halls and other locations for the convenience of residents.

County Governor Lee Dong-jin said, “We will focus administrative efforts to ensure that all residents receive the emergency disaster relief fund before the Lunar New Year,” and requested, “We also ask residents to strictly follow quarantine rules such as the ban on private gatherings of five or more people and mandatory mask-wearing.”
