Kim Bong-hyun: "'Prosecutor Lobby' Former Investigator Attempts to Acquire Star Mobility... Reported for Breach of Trust"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] On the 3rd, the side of former Star Mobility Chairman Kim Bong-hyun, a key figure in the 'Lime Asset Management scandal,' filed a criminal complaint with the prosecution against former prosecutor investigator A and Star Mobility CEO Lee Kang-se, among other executives, for violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (breach of trust).
Kim's side stated in a press release on the same day, "Since 2019, Mr. A has acted as an associate of former Chairman Kim, assisting with matters related to the Lime scandal, and knowing the value of Star Mobility as a listed company, he continuously urged former Chairman Kim to sell the company to his acquaintances."
They added, "Recently, he brought a consortium as the preferred negotiation party in the rehabilitation case, leading to the signing of the main contract for the (Star Mobility M&A). We have filed a criminal complaint regarding the current executives of the company who, without obtaining consent from the actual owner and shareholders, unilaterally applied for rehabilitation."
Furthermore, Kim's side claimed, "Mr. A's side proposed that after the consortium acquires the company, they would submit a non-prosecution request for former Chairman Kim to the court and asked to withdraw the position on the misconduct mentioned in the prison opinion statement."

Former Chairman Kim previously claimed in a prison statement last year that he gave about 300 million won to Mr. A under the pretext of lobbying prosecutors. After the Lime incident occurred, he alleged that Mr. A used his connections to cover up the investigation into the undisclosed Lime case and engaged in lobbying related to the case at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office and Suwon District Prosecutors' Office.
