View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Autonomous driving solution company Yujin Robot announced on the 3rd that it has completed the development of the 2D scanning LiDAR ‘YRL2 Series’ applied to autonomous driving technology and is officially launching it.
According to Yujin Robot, the 2D LiDAR sensor collects abundant surrounding environmental data through a 270-degree horizontal scan, enabling precise map mapping and localization. It has been released in three models that scan indoor spaces up to 5m, 10m, and 20m respectively.
Yujin Robot’s 2D LiDAR sensor analyzes the surroundings to be used for robot position recognition, obstacle detection, and object identification. It can be applied to indoor autonomous driving technologies in various industries such as service robots, AGVs, and unmanned forklifts. Additionally, it is designed with a compact size suitable for finished product development, increasing its usability. Notably, Yujin Robot developed and manufactured it 100% domestically, ensuring price competitiveness.
Previously, Yujin Robot’s 3D LiDAR sensor was selected as one of the 16 industrial technology achievements of 2020 by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea in October last year. It is applied to domestic and international AGVs & AMRs, unmanned forklifts, service robots, and humanoid robots.
Yujin Robot explained that with the release of the 2D LiDAR sensor, together with the 3D LiDAR, it now supports a variety of scanning ranges, allowing selection and application according to the purpose of the application.
