Hyundai Motor Sells 43,394 Units in the US in January, Up 1.5% Year-on-Year
SUV Sales Increase by 11%... Leading the Upward Trend
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 3rd that it sold 43,394 units in the United States in January. This represents an approximately 1.5% increase compared to the same month last year.
According to Hyundai Motor's U.S. subsidiary, the best-selling model last month was the Santa Fe with 8,714 units, followed by the Tucson (7,980 units), Elantra (7,242 units), Palisade (5,669 units), Kona (5,233 units), and Sonata (5,020 units).
The overall sales growth was driven by sport utility vehicle (SUV) models, which increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. This accounts for 69% of Hyundai's total U.S. sales in January.

Among the SUV models, the Santa Fe showed the highest growth with a 45% increase, selling 8,714 units. The Venue also recorded the second highest growth with a 34% increase, selling 1,347 units. In addition, sales of the Kona (9%) and Tucson (1%) also increased.
