Export Performance Surpasses 3,000 Units for the First Time in 16 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Ssangyong Motor announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 8,678 units in January, including 5,648 units domestically and 3,030 units for export. This represents a 13.4% increase compared to the sales volume in January last year (7,653 units).
Despite production challenges, domestic sales overall increased by 1.6%, supported by strong sales of the 'All New Rexton,' which rose 92.1% compared to the same month last year. Exports showed a clear recovery, surpassing 3,000 units for the first time in 16 months since September 2019 (3,050 units), increasing by 44.6% compared to the same month last year.

Ssangyong Motor stated, "Despite the global automotive market contraction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been steadily recovering export performance by reorganizing our global network, diversifying product mix, and strengthening non-face-to-face channels such as untact marketing." They added, "We will continue the upward trend by launching improved product models and further strengthening differentiated sales strategies, including pioneering new markets and various non-face-to-face strategies for overseas markets."
