305 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed... Over 300 Cases for Two Consecutive Days (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea remained in the 300s for the second consecutive day, with 305 cases reported.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on the 1st, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 305 from the previous day to 78,508.
Regarding the infection routes of the new confirmed cases, 285 were domestic transmissions and 20 were imported cases.
By region, 204 cases occurred in the metropolitan area alone: 89 in Gyeonggi, 104 in Seoul, and 11 in Incheon.
In non-metropolitan areas, confirmed cases were reported as follows: 32 in Gwangju, 15 in Busan, 9 in Daegu, 8 in Gangwon, 5 in Chungbuk, 4 in Gyeongbuk, 4 in Gyeongnam, 3 in Chungnam, and 1 in Jeonbuk.
Among the 20 imported cases, 6 were identified during quarantine upon entry. The remaining 14 tested positive while in self-isolation at their residences or temporary living facilities in various regions.
The number of newly released from isolation was 452, bringing the total to 68,309 released from isolation, with 8,774 currently in isolation.
