View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has prepared an event to raise public interest in the strengthened financial consumer rights protection system under the Financial Consumer Protection Act (hereinafter referred to as the FCPA), which will be enforced on March 25.
On the 1st, the FSS announced that it will hold a Financial Consumer Protection Act content contest, which invites various ideas related to the FCPA, as well as simple initial consonant quizzes and multiple-choice quiz events that anyone can easily participate in. The submission (application) period is from today until March 24. The results will be announced on April 23.
The FCPA content contest is open to all citizens of the Republic of Korea. Participants can create digital content (UCC, webtoons, card news, etc.) about the significance of the FCPA or the new financial lifestyle expected after its enforcement and submit it. By filling out the application form and submitting the work file via email to the Financial Education Planning Team of the Financial Education Bureau, seven main prizes (1 grand prize, 2 excellence awards, 4 merit awards) and 40 participation awards will be selected, with winners announced on April 23.
The grand prize winner will receive a certificate and a cash prize of 2 million KRW, and participation award winners will also receive coffee or beverage coupons worth about 10,000 KRW. The FCPA-related content submitted through the contest will be disclosed on the Financial Supervisory Service Financial Education Center website and SNS channels.
The initial consonant quiz event is open to all Koreans aged 30 and above. Participants can access the event page and submit the completed answer based on the initial consonants provided along with the question.
The question is: "To protect the rights of financial consumers, this law will be enforced from March 25. The law we must know for a happy financial life! What is this law? ㉠㉧㉦㉥㉨㉥㉭법." Among the correct answers, prizes will be awarded by lottery to 106 people in total, including lucky prizes (gift certificates worth about 10,000 KRW for 6 people), consolation prizes (beverage exchange coupons worth about 5,000 KRW for 40 people), and participation prizes (souvenirs for 60 people).
The multiple-choice quiz event is open to all Koreans aged 50 and above. After accessing the event page, participants select the correct answer to a simple OX (true/false) question related to the FCPA and submit it. Among the correct answers, 60 people will be awarded various prizes and souvenirs by lottery, including lucky prizes (gift certificates worth about 10,000 KRW for 20 people) and participation prizes (souvenirs for 40 people).

Yoon Seok-heon, the head of the FSS, also personally participated as the "first participant" in the multiple-choice quiz event on the day the contest submissions began. Director Yoon said, "With the enforcement of the FCPA, this year is expected to be the 'first year of financial consumer protection,'" adding, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to increase public interest in the FCPA."
