Army and Air Force Recruit Interviews Conducted via Video Call
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]The Military Manpower Administration announced on the 1st that it will fully switch the interview process for Army and Air Force recruits to video interviews.
The video interviews will be conducted through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Onnara Video Conference System' after identity verification on the Military Manpower Administration's website. If there is no equipment such as a PC, interviews can also be conducted via video calls on mobile phones.
For conscripts who have no experience with video interviews, the Military Manpower Administration has posted an 'Interviewee Manual' on its website to help them familiarize themselves with the program usage in advance and is providing individual guidance. This month, a video guide for video interviews will also be made available on the Military Manpower Administration's website and YouTube.
Previously, when face-to-face interviews were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, the Military Manpower Administration piloted the video interview method starting with Air Force recruit applicants. As a result, it was explained that time and costs required to visit the Military Manpower Administration's interview site were saved, and many evaluations indicated that the video interviews were more satisfactory due to less pressure compared to face-to-face interviews.
