Jeju Police Conduct Special Security Operations for Lunar New Year Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency announced on the 29th that it will carry out special security activities for the Lunar New Year holiday for two weeks from the 1st to the 14th of next month.
The purpose of this activity is to create a peaceful holiday atmosphere in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday, amid concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and increased security demands.
During this period, Jeju Police will maintain an immediate response posture for emergency reports such as serious crimes related to COVID-19, and will actively respond to reports of violations such as quarantine breaches and administrative order violations.
In cooperation with the road management authorities, to prevent large gatherings, traffic management will focus on roads around ports and airports, traditional markets, and large supermarkets, and reckless driving and other risky behaviors will be intensively cracked down on using undercover patrol cars.
By analyzing reports of burglary, domestic violence, and crowded areas such as financial institutions, patrols will be strengthened focusing on crime-prone times and locations. Monitoring of households at risk of repeated domestic violence and abuse will be intensified, and in case of incidents, active cooperation with related agencies will be made to promptly handle cases and protect victims.
Furthermore, through “field-based close criminal activities” that approach residents first, inquiries and intelligence gathering will be strengthened, and strict measures will be taken against crimes that infringe on the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
