Ministry of Justice to Parole Over 600 Inmates Tomorrow... 14th Full Inspection at Dongbu Detention Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Ministry of Justice announced on the 28th that it will parole about 600 inmates on the 29th.
The regular parole targets also included 14 individuals related to Seoul Dongbu Detention Center who met the quarantine release criteria. On the same day, the Ministry of Justice plans to conduct the 14th full inspection targeting about 490 inmates and 460 staff members at Dongbu Detention Center.
As of 5 p.m. that day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in correctional facilities nationwide was counted at 1,265. The previous day, one new inmate at Gimcheon Juvenile Prison tested positive.

There are currently 378 inmates and 19 staff members in isolation and receiving treatment across correctional facilities nationwide. By institution, there are 197 at Dongbu Detention Center, 171 at Gyeongbuk Northern 2 Prison, 6 at Gwangju Prison, 3 at Seoul Detention Center, and 1 at Gimcheon Juvenile Prison.
