The 'Good Rent Expansion Challenge' is a campaign initiated by the National Association of Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads to promote the government's rent support policy centered on basic local governments and to spread the good rent movement.
The government is implementing a policy that provides up to a 70% tax credit to 'good landlords' who reduce rent, and Wando-gun is also offering property tax reductions on buildings.
In Wando-gun, 15 landlords participated in the 'Good Landlord Movement' last year, and 46 tenants received rent reductions.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, "I hope the good rent movement for self-employed people and small business owners who are going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic will spread," adding, "We will actively discover projects to support small business owners where landlords and tenants can coexist and overcome the COVID-19 crisis together."
Meanwhile, the county invested a budget of 776 million KRW last year to support public utility fees and other expenses for 2,587 businesses struggling due to COVID-19. Following last year, this year, a budget of 506 million KRW will be invested to continue the small business interest subsidy support project.
