Yeosu City Councilor Park Seong-mi Receives Local Legislative Service Award

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 27th, Yeosu City Council member Park Seong-mi announced that she received the Local Legislative Service Award from the National Association of Chairpersons of City, County, and District Councils.
The Local Legislative Service Award is given by the association to local council members who contribute to regional development and the welfare of residents and take the lead in volunteer service.
Council member Park Seong-mi is well known for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Her volunteer spirit gained attention after it was revealed that she saved a citizen's life through CPR in the past.
Last year, she worked hard on disinfection at multi-use facilities with fellow council members and also volunteered to help Gurye-gun, which suffered typhoon damage during the summer.
In terms of legislative activities, her proposal submissions stand out.
Notable examples include the “Proposal urging the amendment of the Fisheries Resources Management Act due to restrictions on political net fishing operations” and the “Proposal urging the amendment of related laws to expand shell recycling and improve the marine environment.”
Earlier last month, she also received the Grand Prize for Excellence in the “2020 Korea Local Autonomy Evaluation-linked Legislative Award” hosted by the Yeouido Policy Research Institute.
The Local Legislative Service Award ceremony was held on the 25th in the main assembly hall before the opening of the 207th Yeosu City Council extraordinary session.
