Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 27th that it declared an Ethics Charter to strengthen ethical management and held a pledge ceremony for its executives and employees.
At the Ethics Charter declaration ceremony held on the 26th at the headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, CEO Kim Ok-chan, Ethics Committee Chairman Kim Dong-soo (former Fair Trade Commission Chairman), and executives and employees attended. The ceremony was organized to publicly declare the contents of the Ethics Charter established in December last year and to express the commitment to its implementation.
The ceremony proceeded with the reading of the Ethics Charter by executives and employees, the oath to the code of ethics, and the pledge to practice the code of ethics. The Home&Shopping Ethics Charter, reflecting the commitment to ethical management under the slogan "Ethics is Life," includes ▲ customer trust through the best products and services ▲ social responsibility through co-growth with small and medium enterprises ▲ compliance and ethical management through transparent and fair job performance ▲ respect for human rights of executives and employees and maintenance of dignity. Along with the Ethics Charter, a new Code of Ethics and Employee Code of Conduct, which serve as standards for behavior and value judgment that all executives and employees must comply with, were also established.
Kim Ok-chan, CEO of Home&Shopping, said, "At a time when corporate ethical management is becoming more prominent, we have established the Ethics Charter," and added, "If all executives and employees understand and practice the newly established Ethics Charter, we will become a company trusted by customers and co-growing with small and medium enterprises."
Kim Dong-soo, Chairman of the Home&Shopping Ethics Committee, said, "Over the past three months, the ethics committee members reflected their sense of mission for transparency and fairness in establishing this Ethics Charter," and emphasized, "More important than establishment and declaration is the practice by executives and employees."
