Observing social distancing and prioritizing the safety of residents, this New Year's Greeting Meeting is an occasion for Songpa residents to pledge a hopeful start to the Year of the Ox and share a vision for the future.
Under the theme "Hope Opened Together! A Better Future!", the event is briefly but richly composed of ▲a relay message of New Year's wishes from residents ▲a New Year's address by the mayor wishing for the residents' well-being and development ▲a 'Talk Concert' where residents and the mayor freely converse ▲and a 'Cultural Performance' by the municipal symphony orchestra and the municipal boys and girls choir.
The relay message of New Year's wishes includes participation from local small business owners, sanitation workers, traditional market merchants, firefighters, and others who share their hopes for a better 2021 than the past.
Additionally, Mayor Park Seong-su will express gratitude to the residents who endured the turbulent year of 2020 and reveal the 2021 blueprint for Songpa-gu to advance as a more livable future city through his New Year's address.
The Talk Concert will feature 50 Songpa residents of various ages and occupations, including elementary students participating in SongpaSsem, environmental experts, and youth network committee members, joining online.
Participants and the mayor will engage in a Q&A session on local government issues and idea proposals. It will be broadcast live on YouTube's 'SongpaTV Channel' and accessible to everyone.
For the cultural performance, the municipal symphony orchestra, founded in 1995, will perform Vivaldi's violin concerto 'The Four Seasons.' The municipal boys and girls choir will also join, concluding the New Year's Greeting Meeting with a repertoire that energizes the residents.
