View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who ran for the Seoul mayoral by-election, expressed great shock at the news of Kim Jong-cheol, leader of the Justice Party, resigning, but stated that the Justice Party's attitude and process in handling this incident were very appropriate.
On the 25th, former lawmaker Na said on her Facebook, "After the sexual harassment by the former Seoul mayor, now the leader of the Justice Party? It is truly devastating."
She added, "I am worried about the wounds the victim must have suffered, and at the same time, I am concerned about how disappointed the public must be. The Democratic Party is not democratic at all, and even the Justice Party is becoming distant from justice, which must make the people's hearts even more painful."
The Justice Party announced on the same day that party leader Kim Jong-cheol sexually harassed lawmaker Jang Hye-young and suspended Kim from his position.
Former lawmaker Na said, "I think the Justice Party's attitude and response process in dealing with this incident were very appropriate. Despite his status as party leader, he could not avoid a systematic investigation, and a swift and strict decision was made."
She also said, "They showed a clearly different stance from the Democratic Party, which stigmatized the victim as a complainant and committed collective secondary harm."

Finally, she emphasized, "Once again, this makes us think about the importance and implications of this Seoul mayoral election. We can no longer stand by the duplicity and true face of those who have shouted for human rights and progress."
