15 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Gyeongnam... 'Still Far from a Decrease in Cases' (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1 PM on the 22nd, Gyeongnam Province announced that a total of 15 confirmed cases have occurred: 4 in Changwon, 4 in Jinju, 3 in Gimhae, 3 in Geoje, and 1 in Yangsan.
All 4 confirmed cases in Changwon tested positive after contact with patient number 1815 and were classified as cases 1807 to 1809 and 1815.
Among the 4 confirmed cases in Jinju, 2 who had contact with confirmed cases within the province tested positive and were classified as cases 1812 and 1816.
Two family members who had contact with confirmed cases from other regions tested positive and were classified as cases 1813 and 1814.
Among the 3 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 2 family members who experienced symptoms got tested and were classified as cases 1810 and 1811.
Additionally, one person who was notified of contact with a confirmed family member and tested together was classified as case 1819. Other family members are currently undergoing testing.
Among the 3 confirmed cases in Geoje, one person who experienced symptoms and got tested was classified as case 1817. The infection route is under investigation.
The remaining 2 cases both tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 1818 and 1820.
The single confirmed case in Yangsan also tested positive after contact with a confirmed case within the province and was classified as case 1821.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has increased to a total of 1,818 (219 hospitalized, 1,593 discharged, 6 deceased).

Shin Jong-woo, Director of the Provincial Welfare and Health Bureau, stated, "Gyeongnam Province still maintains a daily confirmed case count of around 20. If residents increase their movement and contact during the weekend amid this critical situation, the infection could spread further."
