According to the Jungbu Police Station in Busan on the 22nd, a patrol car driven by Officer A of the Jungbu Police Station hit B (55, male), who was lying on the road, at around 1:53 a.m. on the 22nd while responding to a call. B was immediately taken to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
The patrol car was responding to a 112 call about a dispute over cleaning nearby and did not notice B before hitting him.
After reviewing the black box footage, the police confirmed that the patrol car was traveling at a slow speed of 10 km/h to reach the reported location at the time of the accident.
A police official stated that the accident site was a narrow downhill alley, and it seems the driver failed to notice the victim. The accident location is known to be a back road with almost no street lighting.

The police estimate that B was intoxicated and asleep on the road at the time of the accident.
The police said, "Officer A is currently under great psychological shock," and added, "We will thoroughly investigate the exact circumstances of the accident and handle the matter strictly."
