Gwanak-gu Publishes 'Interesting and Valuable Social Economy Stories' in Comics
Contributing to Resident Awareness of Social Economy and Enhancing Recognition of Local Social Economy Enterprises... Also Produced as Video Content, Available for Everyone on LiveGwanak and GwanakSagyeong YouTube Channels
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has published a comic book titled "Interesting and Valuable Stories of Social Economy," focusing on social economy.
This project was selected as a Seoul Metropolitan Government community innovation task in 2020 and aimed to improve understanding and awareness of social economy by introducing the concept of social economy and local (preliminary) social enterprises in an accessible webtoon format.
The book is produced in comic book form with content that can interest both children and adults. Chapter 1 introduces the concept of social economy by addressing the social issue of increasing abandoned stray cats through social economy methods, and Chapter 2 presents information about Gwanak-gu's (preliminary) social enterprises in an entertaining comic format.
The district distributed the produced comic books to 21 neighborhood community centers, elementary, middle, and high schools, libraries, and welfare centers to make them easily accessible to everyone.
Additionally, the webtoon can also be viewed as a video. The content was edited into a video format for easy viewing and is available anytime on the official district YouTube channel Live Gwanak or the Gwanak Social Economy channel.
