Daegu City Recharges 'Munhwa Nuri Card' with 100,000 Won Each... Basic Livelihood Security Recipients Receive 10,000 Won Increase
Automatic Recharge Available at Administrative Welfare Centers Including Low-Income Groups Starting February 1
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 21st that it will officially promote the 'Integrated Cultural Use Voucher Project,' issuing the Munhwa Nuri Card to basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups aged 6 and above starting next month on the 1st.
The Munhwa Nuri Card, a dedicated prepaid card for culture, travel, and sports sectors, is issued to basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups aged 6 and above (born on or before December 31, 2015). Applications can be made from February 1st at administrative welfare centers nationwide and through the Munhwa Nuri Card website.
This year's support amount is 100,000 KRW per person, an increase of 10,000 KRW from last year. To provide convenience, an automatic recharge system has been newly introduced. This system automatically recharges the 2021 support funds if the 2020 Munhwa Nuri Card holder maintains eligibility as a recipient.
Daegu City and the Daegu Cultural Foundation will focus on discovering non-face-to-face affiliated stores such as online and phone payment options in line with the current era. They also plan to promote temporary use of affiliated stores linked to local festivals, provide usage guidance through the KakaoTalk Plus Channel, and offer real-time civil complaint responses.
Park Hee-jun, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Daegu City, said, "In the prolonged COVID-19 era, we plan to further expand non-face-to-face usage support services to activate the use of the Munhwa Nuri Card. We will strive to ensure that citizens who find it difficult to enjoy culture due to economic circumstances can use it safely and conveniently."
