[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Gunwi County, Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 21st that it will install and operate 'Circular Resource Collection Robots,' automatic collection machines for PET bottles and cans, at two locations within the county.
The Circular Resource Collection Robot can handle both PET bottles and cans. Users enter their mobile phone number and insert recyclable items, which are then compressed, sorted, and stored. It can accommodate up to 1,500 items per day.
When using the Circular Resource Collection Robot, users receive 5 points per PET bottle and 7 points per can. Points can be redeemed for cash starting from 2,000 points.

A Gunwi County official stated, "With the installation of the Circular Resource Collection Robots, we hope a new perception will emerge that resource circulation is not an inconvenient task but a productive one," adding, "We will strive to foster a long-term recycling culture by utilizing the robots for children's experiential learning and other purposes."
