17 Confirmed Cases in Gyeongnam... 14 Fines for Violating Private Gatherings of 5 or More (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] On the 19th, 17 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Gyeongnam. Except for one case of overseas entry, all others are local infections.
By region, there were 5 cases each in Sacheon and Changwon, 3 cases each in Gimhae and Yangsan, and 1 case in Tongyeong.
Among the Sacheon cases, 4 are colleagues from an Air Force unit who were confirmed positive on the previous day (18th). Among the Changwon cases, one was identified as a bus company employee. This employee had contact with a previously confirmed coworker. Changwon city health authorities have initiated comprehensive testing for employees of the bus company.
The remaining confirmed cases are either family members of previously confirmed patients within the province or close contacts of existing cases. Meanwhile, one of the Gimhae cases is a foreigner who entered from Russia.
Meanwhile, the province announced that it has detected a total of 14 violations of the ban on private gatherings of five or more people, which is being enforced to minimize personal contact and reduce cluster infections.

Of the 14 cases, 12 occurred in Changwon, and one each in Jinju and Namhae. The province imposed a fine of 100,000 KRW per person on those involved.
