Jeju Fire Station Conducts Winter Fire Prevention Inspections at COVID-19 Quarantine Facilities and Others
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Station announced that it will conduct an emergency fire safety inspection of COVID-19 contact isolation facilities from the 12th to the 14th.
This inspection is being carried out to prevent winter fires in facilities related to COVID-19.
The targets include a total of 21 locations in Jeju City: 2 COVID-19 contact isolation facilities, 3 nursing hospitals, 1 psychiatric medical institution, and 15 elderly medical welfare facilities.
The Jeju Fire Station's special fire investigation team will wear Class D protective suits to prevent COVID-19 infection and split into two teams to conduct on-site inspections.
The main inspection items include checking the normal operation and maintenance status of fire and electrical facilities, with a particular focus on the usability and utilization of evacuation and fire prevention facilities in preparation for emergencies such as fires.

A Jeju Fire Station official stated, "COVID-19 related facilities may neglect fire safety management due to excessive workload," and added, "We will eliminate fire risk factors in advance for the safety of facility personnel and users."
