Gwanak-gu 'Emoticon Creator' Training for Youth Job Creation?
Contributing to Unique Emoticon Development with Professional Online Classes and Detailed Feedback... From Student to Revenue-Generating Creator... Operating Various Programs Supporting Youth Dreams
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “I created a new emoticon on my own using what I learned in class and registered it on the Naver Market.”
This is what Kwon (28), who participated in the online ‘Emoticon Creator Training Course’ operated by Gwanak-gu, said.
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) ran the online ‘Emoticon Creator Training Course’ for young people aspiring to be emoticon artists over nine sessions from October to November last year.
The creator education program was planned to include trends and practicality, enabling participants to generate income through emoticons made with their own unique personality and fun messages, as well as create additional idea products.
Recently, some young people who participated in this training course and created emoticons have registered them on SNS and officially become artists. Kim (28) and Kwon (28) are the main figures.
Kim applied for this training to expand his activities into character design by utilizing his illustration skills.
He said the short-term intensive training method was effective, adding, “The stage of planning the character’s personality was the most memorable, and the saying that the completeness of the planning stage directly affects the completeness of the emoticon was very helpful.”
Kwon used what he learned in this class to create a new emoticon on his own and completed registration on the Naver OGQ Market.
This young man said the class was conducted so that even beginners in Photoshop could follow along, and the detailed feedback was a strong point. He added, “It was great that they gave practical advice on how to register emoticons on the market and the realities of the emoticon market.”
Meanwhile, starting this year, the district plans to operate various programs for youth, including an AI-VR interview experience center, big data expert training, and media creator training.
Detailed information about the programs can be found on the Gwanak-gu Office website (Information by Division → Welfare & Youth) or on the Naver blog ‘Clean Zone for Gwanak Youth.’
