[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, participated in the ‘Expecting Local Autonomy Challenge’ on the 11th.
Started by the Planning Group of the Presidential Committee on Local Autonomy, this challenge carries a message supporting the opening of the ‘Local Autonomy 2.0 Era,’ which hopes for significant changes in local autonomy following the passage of the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act in the National Assembly last December, and encourages local governments to demonstrate their capabilities.
Lee Dong-jin, who joined the challenge upon the nomination of Roh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, nominated Park Seung-won, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, Lee Sung-moon, Mayor of Yeonje-gu, Busan, and Yoo Dong-gyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Seoul, who are all active members of the Local Autonomy Local Government Council, as the next participants.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, has been actively conveying the voices of local governments to the central government since being elected as the 3rd Chairman of the Local Autonomy Local Government Council in November 2020.
