[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) evaluated President Moon Jae-in's New Year's address on the 11th, stating that "it mentioned the necessary measures in a balanced manner across economic and social sectors based on the spirit of inclusion and coexistence, so that our economy, which is struggling due to COVID-19, can recover quickly and strongly."
KITA remarked, "We highly appreciate the government's determination to boldly and swiftly expand fiscal and investment capabilities during the first half of the year while thoroughly maintaining the achievements of K-quarantine to overcome the crisis."
It added, "The trade industry hopes that the government will accelerate the implementation of digital and green new deal policies in active response to the global digital innovation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution trends caused by COVID-19, and through this, find new growth engines for exports and continuously expand jobs."
Furthermore, it urged, "We hope that the decarbonization of the economic structure, globalization of K-content, and expansion of the global Free Trade Agreement (FTA) network will be carried out without setbacks so that our economy can flexibly respond to the new international trade order and, furthermore, successfully achieve a major transition to a leading economy."

Meanwhile, KITA stated that it will make its best efforts to support the overseas expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies, digital transformation (DX), and startups' open innovation in line with the rapidly changing export environment, aiming for economic recovery and leap forward based on coexistence and cooperation.
