"Making Noise While Sleeping" 40s Man Wields Fire Extinguisher in Sauna... Victim Dies
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 40s who assaulted another sauna user with a fire extinguisher, causing his death after a dispute over disturbing sleep, has been arrested by the police.
Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced on the 10th that they have arrested A (45) on the spot on charges of special injury resulting in death and are currently investigating him.
According to the police, A is accused of striking B (45) multiple times on the head with a fire extinguisher at a sauna in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, around 11 p.m. the previous day. B was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but died that morning.
It was investigated that A, after drinking alcohol, was sleeping in the sauna's sleeping room when B, also intoxicated, entered, leading to a verbal dispute over the noise before the assault occurred.

A police official stated, "We are investigating the specific circumstances and motive of the crime," adding, "Due to the severity of the injury, we plan to request an arrest warrant."
