Hyundai Motor Recalls Additional 470,000 Tucson Vehicles in the U.S. Due to Fire Risk...
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company is issuing an additional recall of 471,000 Tucson vehicles in the United States due to the risk of fire.
According to foreign media on the 9th (local time), Hyundai announced an additional recall of 471,000 Tucson vehicles, citing a defect in the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that could cause vehicle fires. The recall targets certain models of Tucson sold in the U.S. from 2016 to 2018 and 2020 to 2021.
Hyundai stated that a defect in the ABS circuit board of the recalled vehicles could cause a fire even if the engine shuts off, and urged owners to avoid outdoor parking until repairs are completed. Hyundai plans to notify owners of the recall about the replacement of the ABS circuit board fuse.
