Hanam-si Expands Quality Inspection to Include 'Public Buildings'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province is expanding quality inspections, which were previously conducted only for multi-family housing and officetels, to include public buildings.
On the 7th, the city stated, "The expansion target includes public buildings with a construction cost of 5 billion KRW or more, and inspections can be conducted if necessary even for those under 5 billion KRW."
According to the city, quality inspections are carried out by private experts such as architectural engineers and architects, and are conducted twice: during the frame construction phase (progress rate of 25% or more) and before approval for use (progress rate of 98% or more).
This year’s scheduled completions include three public buildings: Deokpung Neighborhood Park 3rd Public Parking Lot, city hall extension, and Wirye Library.
