Seoul Jung-gu Hosts Ontact 'Mind Healing Parent Academy'
On the 5th, 50 Parents Made Handmade Flower Syrup and Donated Some to Needy Seniors
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) held a non-face-to-face 온(溫)Tact Mind Healing Parent Academy on the 5th for 50 parents in the area.
This event was held to soothe the minds of parents exhausted from raising and caring for their children due to COVID-19, and to provide an online time to share with neighbors, aiming to build a healthy local community education network.
On this day, the lecture was conducted by instructor Lee Hyoran, CEO of Flower Light Fragrance, at EduCook on the basement first floor of the Jung-gu Education Support Center Iroum.
The lecture involved making handmade flower syrup, producing flower syrup using dried roses that can be used in various beverages.
Education kits were distributed in advance to parents who completed registration, and on the day, participants connected via ZOOM to follow the instructor’s guidance and make flower syrup together yet separately.
Participants each made two bottles of flower syrup, donating one bottle to 55 elderly people using Sindang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, adding a considerate warmth despite the non-face-to-face event.
The 온(溫)Tact Mind Healing Parent Academy continues over two sessions.
On the 7th, Jung-gu Mom Teacher instructor Kang Seongmi will conduct a hot pack pouch making session via ZOOM. This session also targets 50 parents, and some of the products will be donated to elderly people.
A Jung-gu Office official said, "This academy selected items that are helpful in daily life and easy to make and share, aiming to form a sense of bonding by doing it together rather than just producing."
He added, "We plan to continuously discover various items to help overcome the difficulties of raising children during COVID-19 and COVID blues."
