Honam University Reappointed as the Entrusted Institution for Gwangsan-gu Corporate Doctor Center
Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation Continues Customized Support Project Diagnosing Management Difficulties of SMEs and Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced on the 5th that it has been reselected as the entrusted institution for the 'Gwangsan-gu Corporate Doctor Center.'
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation will continue to diagnose management difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners within Gwangsan-gu and provide customized support projects until the end of next year.
Since December 2018, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation has been entrusted with the Gwangsan-gu Corporate Doctor Center, which was the first of its kind established by a basic local government nationwide. It has stationed corporate doctors in management, technology, finance, and marketing fields to conduct management diagnosis and customized consulting for SMEs, small business owners, and social economy enterprises.
Last year, 1,298 consultations were conducted, and through 181 cases of policy and fund linkage, it helped secure 14 billion KRW in central government funds.
Additionally, to support SMEs and small business owners struggling to secure sales channels due to COVID-19, the foundation opened the Gwangsan-gu Brand Pavilion on the Post Office Shopping Mall, where as of the end of November last year, 34 tenant companies achieved sales of approximately 328 million KRW.
Along with this, the foundation took charge of the practical work of the 'Gwangsan Economic Vaccine Meeting,' a governance body composed of public, private, and academic sectors in Gwangsan-gu formed to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, leading the proposal of 12 customized solutions for the regional economy including finance, jobs, sales channels, and cultural vitality.
It also operated the 'Boss Restart One-Stop Window,' helping minimize damages to self-employed individuals facing business closure by providing 1% hope loans, business closure consulting, and support for store demolition costs.
As a result of these efforts, the Corporate Doctor Center played a significant role, receiving a satisfaction rate of 90.2% from business owners and small business owners in a satisfaction survey conducted by Gwangsan-gu in July last year.
