Chungnam Issues Administrative Order for COVID-19 Testing of Visitors to BTJ Yeolbang Center
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province has issued an administrative order requiring diagnostic testing for COVID-19 for visitors to the Christian missionary facility BTJ Yeolbang Center and has banned gatherings of BTJ-related meetings and the Intercop missionary group.
According to the province on the 5th, the testing targets are visitors to the BTJ Yeolbang Center in Sangju from November 27 last year to January 3 this year, as well as attendees of BTJ-related meetings held in the region.
Under the province's administrative order, the targets must undergo COVID-19 diagnostic testing at screening clinics set up in public health centers within the province by 6 p.m. on the 8th, regardless of the presence or absence of symptoms.
Additionally, visitors to the Sangju BTJ Yeolbang Center and meeting attendees are prohibited from holding religious (Intercop missionary group) related gatherings in the region. The ban on gatherings will remain in effect until further notice.
The province plans to impose criminal penalties under the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act" if violations of the diagnostic testing and gathering ban administrative orders are detected.
In particular, if confirmed cases occur due to violations of the administrative order and require hospitalization and treatment, the province plans to claim all quarantine-related costs, including hospitalization and treatment fees, through subrogation rights.
The province will use disaster text messages and social networking services (SNS) to guide the targets to receive COVID-19 diagnostic testing and will cooperate with related organizations such as city and county offices to ensure the effectiveness of the administrative order.
