Sandangong, Call for Investors in Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Projects
Policy Investment Fund of 150 Billion KRW Raised and Supported for 169 Industrial Complexes
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan, hereinafter referred to as KICO) announced on the 3rd that it will invite private businesses to participate in the 2021 Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial complexes and improve working and residential environments.
The Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund is a project that attracts private investment funds based on government fund contributions to improve the environment of aging industrial complexes and build facilities necessary for industry advancement. Over the past 10 years, it has invested 917.7 billion KRW of government funds in 57 projects such as knowledge industry centers, smart logistics facilities, and fuel energy facilities, generating a total of 4.8161 trillion KRW in new investments.
The 2021 fund investment targets include 37 national industrial complexes such as Seoul Digital, Namdong, Banwol-Sihwa, and 132 general industrial complexes such as Daegu Seongseo and Busan Sinpyeong-Jangnim.
The investment areas include industrial cluster advancement (advanced factories, knowledge industry centers, logistics facilities, etc.), residential convenience and culture (dormitory-type officetels, cultural and convention facilities, etc.), and industrial infrastructure (water supply, transportation and communication, energy support facilities, etc.). In particular, the fund will focus on smart green industrial complex projects such as digitalization, energy self-sufficiency, and eco-friendliness of aging industrial complex infrastructure.
Due to the prevention of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), no business briefing session will be held for this recruitment, and video materials will be posted on the KICO website starting from the 15th. Through the website notice section, the first weekly business operator recruitment announcement for the Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund can be confirmed.
