Operation suspended after 2 or more violations of quarantine guidelines... Facility closure after 5 violations
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Facilities or places that violate domestic COVID-19 prevention guidelines more than twice will face suspension of operations and facility closure measures.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) announced that, following the revision of the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act" in September, it has amended related enforcement ordinances and rules to specify delegated matters and necessary details for implementation, which will take effect from the 30th.
The new enforcement rules stipulate that for facilities or places violating prevention guidelines such as maintaining visitor logs or wearing masks, the following penalties apply: ▲ 1st violation - warning ▲ 2nd violation - 10-day suspension of operations ▲ 3rd violation - 20-day suspension of operations ▲ 4th violation - 3-month suspension of operations ▲ 5th violation - closure order. The same standards apply to violations related to facility management such as disinfection or ventilation.
Jung Eun-kyung, Commissioner of the KDCA, stated, "With the ability to impose administrative measures including suspension of operations and facility closure orders for violations at infectious disease transmission risk facilities and places, we can secure the effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention."
