Gwangju City Executes Personnel Transfers for 12 Directors-Level Officials
Maintaining the Personnel Policy of the 7th Elected Term: Less Than One Year Transfer Restriction and Appropriate Placement Considering Expertise
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 29th that it has carried out a level 3 director-level personnel transfer (a total of 12 people) effective January 1, 2021.
This director-level personnel transfer aims to stabilize the organization by restricting transfers within less than one year, which is a personnel principle of the 7th local government administration. At the same time, it focuses on placing personnel with expertise in the right positions to ensure that major city administration issues such as perfect COVID-19 response, citizen job creation, and the Gwangju-type 3 major New Deal projects based on AI, digital, green, and human sectors can be promoted with speed.
The level 3 director transfers are ▲ Kim Gi-suk, Policy Planning Officer ▲ Kwak Hyun-mi, Director of Women and Family Bureau ▲ Park Nam-ju, Director of Environment and Ecology Bureau ▲ Lee Jeong-sam, Head of Military Airport Relocation Promotion Headquarters ▲ Park Nam-eon, Director of Transportation and Construction Bureau ▲ Park Jeong-hwan, Director of Job Economy Office ▲ Jeong Dae-gyeong, Acting Head of Urban Railroad Construction Headquarters ▲ Oh Young-geol (Local Autonomy Talent Development Institute) ▲ Bae Bok-hwan, Acting (Local Autonomy Talent Development Institute) ▲ Kim Seok-ung, Gwangju Metropolitan City ▲ Lee Chi-seon, Gwangju Metropolitan City ▲ Heo Ik-bae, Gwangju Metropolitan City (scheduled to be transferred to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on December 31, 2020).
In particular, following the transfer of Deputy Director Heo Ik-bae (6th Local Civil Service Exam) to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Gwangju plans to promote a one-to-one personnel exchange at the manager level with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to strengthen cooperation with the central government and accelerate major city administration projects.
Gwangju plans to carry out additional personnel transfers including two level 3 promotions on the 31st, as well as level 4 manager-level transfers, and complete transfers for level 5 and below by January 18 next year.
