Minister Chu Shares Post Calling for 'Yoon Seok-yeol's Impeachment' on YouTube Channel
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae shared a post by a ruling party lawmaker advocating the impeachment of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol on social media (SNS).
On the 28th, Minister Choo shared a link to a column titled "Yoon Seok-yeol's Impeachment, No Backlash Will Come," written by Min Hyung-bae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, on her YouTube channel.
Minister Choo quoted from Min's article: "So far, I have advocated for the complete separation of investigative and prosecutorial powers and the impeachment of Prosecutor General Yoon. There are considerable disagreements regarding the impeachment part. Some say that Prosecutor General Yoon alone is not the entirety of the conservative cartel, so there is no need to 'nurture' him." She also excerpted the part stating, "Impeachment is not a punishment against the natural person Prosecutor General Yoon. It is necessary to curb the prosecutorial organization, which plays a central role in the conservative cartel, so that the rational and efficient arrangement of other tasks becomes possible. Therefore, impeachment is essential."
