Hampyeong-gun Receives Prime Minister's Commendation in National Records Management Awards
The Only Government Award for County-Level Local Governments
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it was the only county-level local government to receive the Prime Minister's Commendation, a government award, in the '2020 National Records Management Awards' conducted by the National Archives of Korea under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
In this evaluation, the county received high marks for its continuous efforts to improve work, such as the introduction of a storage management system and the establishment of a one-stop records management system that the county has promoted so far.
It was also recognized for its active efforts in establishing an administrative archive management plan for stable public records management, managing operation records of the archive, and preparing non-face-to-face education spaces.
In particular, the county earned good scores for independently promoting the Hampyeong County Archives construction project to systematically manage various records and for hiring dedicated personnel such as records researchers to specialize in operations.
The National Archives evaluates overall public records management annually for public institutions nationwide and awards organizations or individuals recognized for their contributions.
This year's evaluation was conducted across 468 institutions, including government-affiliated public institutions, covering three areas: ▲ facilities and equipment as the foundation for records management work ▲ work promotion such as records transfer ▲ services and work improvements.
Lee Sang-ik, Hampyeong County Governor, said, "We will promote substantial public records management work centered on the newly built Hampyeong County Archives, preserving and actively maintaining and utilizing not only public records but also the entire history of the local community."
