Jinju-si and Korea Student Aid Foundation Support Interest on Student Loans for University Students
Signing of Business Agreement, Effective from 2021
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province and the Korea Student Aid Foundation announced on the 28th that they have signed a business agreement to support interest payments on student loans for university students in Jinju.
Starting from 2021, this agreement is expected to help reduce the financial burden on local university students, create an environment where they can focus on their studies, and contribute to nurturing local talent.
The support targets university students who, as of the announcement date, are either registered residents of Jinju City themselves or have parents who have been registered residents of Jinju City for more than one year, and who have received employment-linked repayment student loans or general repayment student loans from the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
The scope of support covers the accrued interest on student loans received from the Korea Student Aid Foundation since 2016.
