Gyeongbuk Province Publishes 'Donghae Humanities' ... "Promoting Establishment of Donghae Humanities Center"
East Sea Regional Headquarters Publishes Second Book Related to Donghae This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 28th that it has published the guideline book "East Sea Humanities," which presents directions on how to understand the East Sea and what humanities-related tasks should be undertaken in the future.
This is the second publication this year by the Gyeongbuk East Sea Regional Headquarters related to the East Sea, following the release of the "Gyeongbuk East Sea Life and Culture Series," which compiles various fields such as life, history, culture, and industry of the East Sea.
"East Sea Humanities" is significant as it synthesizes various humanities research methodologies related to the East Sea and presents practical applications of the humanities, according to Gyeongsangbuk-do.
Composed of three parts: "Theory and Current Issues of East Sea Humanities," "Methods and Practice," and "Field and Application," this book contains how Gyeongsangbuk-do, which regards a considerable part of the East Sea as its living space, should proactively respond from a humanities perspective amid the competition among the US, Japan, China, and Russia.
This book will be distributed to libraries, the National Archives, cultural centers, and regional studies institutes within Gyeongsangbuk-do.
