24 Confirmed Cases in Gyeongnam Cluster Spread... Group Infections Continue in Geoje Hot Springs and Sancheong
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] As the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues domestically, sporadic cluster infections are ongoing in Gyeongnam as well.
As of 1:30 PM on the 27th, Gyeongnam Province announced that 24 confirmed cases have occurred: 7 in Geoje, 5 in Changwon, 4 in Gimhae, 4 in Sancheong, 2 in Jinju, and 2 in Yangsan.
The 7 confirmed cases in Geoje, numbered 1199~1202 and 1208~1210, are all contacts related to Haesuboyang Oncheon. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to Haesuboyang Oncheon to 27. Notably, case 1200 was a child attending a daycare center in Geoje and attended until the 23rd. Case 1201 was a middle school student in Geoje who attended school until the 24th.
In Changwon, 5 confirmed cases numbered 1207, 1211~1213, and 1221 were reported. Case 1207 was a hospitalized patient at a hospital in Changwon who tested positive in a pre-release test. The other 4 are family contacts.
In Gimhae, 4 confirmed cases occurred. Case 1198 tested positive after experiencing symptoms and getting tested. Cases 1214, 1215, and 1216 are contacts from other cities or provinces.
In Sancheong, 4 confirmed cases numbered 1203~1206 were reported. They are family contacts of confirmed cases.
The 2 confirmed cases in Jinju, 1219 and 1220, had contact with confirmed cases within the province.
The 2 confirmed cases in Yangsan, 1217 and 1218, are family contacts.
