Argentina to Start Russia COVID-19 Vaccine Inoculation from 29th
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Argentina will begin administering the Russian novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine 'Sputnik V' starting on the 29th (local time).
According to major foreign media on the 26th, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced the vaccination schedule during a meeting with governors, stating, "Healthcare workers will receive the vaccine within 72 hours."
Argentina is the third country to approve the use of Sputnik V after Russia and Belarus. Argentine health authorities approved the emergency use of Sputnik V on the 23rd, and 300,000 doses arrived in Argentina the following day.
Sputnik V has been criticized for being approved for use in Russia before large-scale Phase 3 clinical trials were conducted, raising concerns about its efficacy and safety.
