View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Nah Hana] Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who served as co-chairman of the Public Interest Whistleblower Support Committee in Moon Jae-in's Democratic Party campaign during the 19th presidential election, commented on the return of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "What was bound to come has finally come," and added, "The world, once tainted and crude due to base selfish desires, is now beginning to return to its proper state."
On the 25th, Shin posted on Facebook under the title "The dam of public sentiment is breaking," expressing these views.
He wrote, "I do not understand why this government, which claims to have inherited the Candlelight Citizen Revolution, has come to be like this," and added, "As someone who proudly laid a brick in the establishment of this government, I look upon this historical turning point with deep self-reproach."
He continued, "Above all, this government lies too much. They are not honest," and criticized, "Prosecutorial reform is fake. They should have sincerely accepted the people's will and earnestly pursued judicial reform, but instead, they were busy solely aiming to achieve a 20-year long-term rule."
He further pointed out, "The cornerstone of long-term rule was the incapacitation of the prosecution," and said, "When multiple investigations targeting the core of the regime were underway, they vilely pushed the Prosecutor General to the brink without any regard for constitutional due process principles, all to evade the sharp edge of those investigations, and dared to call this prosecutorial reform."
Shin also criticized the government's vaccine procurement, stating, "This government keeps spouting the blatant lie that they delayed the introduction of vaccines out of consideration for their safety."

He added, "How could the government's shamelessness, lies, and incompetence be limited only to the failures of prosecutorial reform and vaccine procurement?" and said, "Look at the ongoing case of Vice Minister of Justice Lee Yong-gu's assault on his driver or the vulgar background of the nominee for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport," concluding, "History will spit the spit of contempt at them."
