5 Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gwangju...1 Critical Patient Dies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Five additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gwangju, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,005. One critically ill patient receiving treatment has died.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 25th, five people tested positive for COVID-19 and were newly registered as cases 1001 to 1005.
Fortunately, there were no confirmed cases with unknown infection routes, as all were identified within the quarantine network of the health authorities.
Case 1001 is a resident of Usan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and was found to be related to Gwangju Cheongsa Church. Since case 959 was confirmed at Cheongsa Church the previous day, 14 people have tested positive.
Cases 1002 and 1005 are related to Evergreen Silver House (nursing home). Case 1002 developed symptoms during self-quarantine and underwent testing. The number of confirmed cases related to this nursing home has increased to 43.
Case 1003, a resident of Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, is linked to the missionary facility Sangju BTJ Yeolbang Center, and case 1004 is related to case 906, having tested positive after developing symptoms during self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, with the death of case 906, who was receiving treatment, the number of deaths in the Gwangju area has reached five.

Case 906 was confirmed positive during a diagnostic test conducted when visiting a hospital for treatment on the 22nd and was isolated and treated in a critical care bed. The patient died around 12:50 PM that day, and the cremation and funeral were held around 5 PM.
