Suspected Report of Highly Pathogenic AI in Yesan, Chungnam
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] A suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) has been reported at a broiler breeder farm in Yesan, Chungnam.
The Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters (CAC) received a report on the 25th from the farm about an increase in mortality, and a rapid test conducted by the Chungnam Animal Hygiene Laboratory confirmed a positive result.
Currently, a detailed examination is underway. The determination of whether it is highly pathogenic is expected within 1 to 3 days.

The CAC dispatched an initial response team to the site to control access to the farm and conduct an epidemiological investigation. Movement restrictions, surveillance, and inspections are also being implemented for farms within a 10 km radius.
