Lee Nak-yeon, Urgent Meeting of Ruling Party Judiciary Committee Members
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has started working with members of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee from his party to devise countermeasures following the court's decision to suspend the execution of disciplinary action against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.
According to political circles on the 25th, Lee held an emergency meeting with the judiciary committee members at the National Assembly in the morning to discuss response measures related to the court's decision to suspend the execution of Yoon's disciplinary action.
Earlier, the court sentenced Professor Jung Kyung-shim, wife of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, to four years in prison and decided to suspend the execution of a two-month suspension disciplinary action against Prosecutor General Yoon. For the Democratic Party, this effectively weakens their long-pursued prosecutorial reform agenda.
