According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, 121 new confirmed cases were found at the metropolitan area temporary screening clinics the day before. This figure reflects the positive cases among those tested on the 23rd, included in the statistics of the previous day. Since the temporary screening clinics began operation on the 14th, a total of 411,604 diagnostic tests have been conducted over ten days, identifying 1,025 cumulative confirmed cases.
The government decided to sequentially install about 150 temporary screening clinics in the metropolitan area and conduct intensive testing for three weeks until January 3rd next year to prevent the spread of the third wave by early detection of asymptomatic infected individuals. As of 6 p.m. the previous day, a total of 147 temporary screening clinics were open: 61 in Seoul, 75 in Gyeonggi, and 11 in Incheon.
Anyone can receive a free test at these locations by providing only their mobile phone number, even if they have no suspicious symptoms or epidemiological links to confirmed cases and wish to be tested.
