LG Electronics announced on the 25th that starting this month, it will carry out the "Hope Village (Life’s Good: Hope Village)" project in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Korea Habitat to ensure that vulnerable housing groups in Kenya, Vietnam, India, and other countries can live in safe and comfortable environments.
This project is part of the "LG Come Home Challenge" campaign, which LG Electronics launched globally for its customers in September. The funds donated jointly by LG Electronics and its customers to Korea Habitat are used for this project.
Targeting over 80 households, this project involves building and providing safe homes or improving existing homes to make them more comfortable. It also enhances hygiene facilities such as communal water supply systems and restrooms, as well as educational environments including school libraries and meal service facilities.
Additionally, LG Electronics supports local residents living in public facilities in each country by providing air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and air purifiers.
Marking the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, LG Electronics plans to carry out the Hope Village project in Ethiopia over the next three years to provide comfortable housing and improve educational environments for Korean War veterans and their descendants.
Since 2013, LG Electronics and its labor union have been supporting Korean War veterans in Ethiopia annually with living expenses and supplies to fulfill their social responsibility and express gratitude.
