Earlier, Prosecutor General Yoon's side appealed to the court during the final hearing statement, saying, "This case is a historic event questioning what the rule of law is," and "We hope for a wise judgment." In particular, they mentioned, "The exercise of disciplinary authority against Prosecutor General Yoon this time is entirely different in nature from disciplinary actions due to simple personal misconduct. Because of this nature, not only personal damages but also damages to the entire prosecution organization and, furthermore, damages to society caused by the erosion of the rule of law are connected. We argue that the damage caused by the erosion of the rule of law is more important."
