Gwangju City, 2021 Village Community Support Project Integrated Public Contest
7 Types Including Hyupchi Village, Educational Community, Human Rights Village, and Village Welfare Community
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it will conduct the 2021 Integrated Village Community Project Contest from the 24th until January 18 of next year.
This integrated contest was prepared to help residents easily understand various village contest projects in different fields and participate in projects suited to the characteristics of their villages.
The contest projects include a total of 7 projects from 4 departments: ▲Co-governance Village Model Project ▲Village Education Community ▲Youth Reconciliation Playground ▲Village Dispute Resolution Support Center Communication Room ▲Human Rights Village Creation ▲Gwangju Village Welfare Community ▲Women and Family Friendly Village.
Village communities wishing to participate in the integrated contest can submit proposals that include the main project plan aligned with the purpose of the participation project, village-level social safety net strengthening activities reflecting the COVID-19 crisis situation, plans for non-face-to-face project implementation, and climate change response projects, which are a priority of Gwangju City, by visiting the relevant departments from January 4 to 18 of next year.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, applications for the Gwangju Village Welfare Community project and Women-Friendly Village project, which are submitted to autonomous districts, are excluded; the other 5 projects accept applications not only by visit but also online through the Gwangju City website.
The submitted projects will be reviewed by Gwangju City and autonomous districts, and the final projects will be selected in March. Gwangju City plans to support smooth project implementation by providing accounting education, consulting from intermediary support organizations and expert support groups, and operating village schools.
Details related to the integrated contest can be found in the notices and announcements section on the Gwangju City website.
Separately, the city plans to produce an integrated booklet introducing all village community projects promoted by the city and autonomous districts to provide detailed guidance beyond this integrated contest project.
