[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 24th that a ‘special quarantine reinforcement measure’ will be implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the year-end and New Year period.
The special quarantine reinforcement measure will be in effect from today until January 3 of next year.
The county recommended banning all private gatherings of five or more people and the use of restaurants. Violators will be fined up to 3 million KRW for operators and up to 100,000 KRW for users.
Religious facilities are required to conduct all religious activities online, prohibiting all gatherings and meals.
Accommodation facilities must limit reservations to within 50% of rooms and ensure that the number of occupants does not exceed the room capacity.
Long-term care and welfare facilities will strictly control the entry of outsiders and minimize movement by banning private gatherings.
The county will conduct safety and quarantine inspections of welfare facilities within the jurisdiction by the 30th and will proactively test group facilities vulnerable to infection.
Additional comprehensive testing is underway for elderly and disabled home welfare facilities, with plans to complete testing of 757 workers at 28 facilities within the jurisdiction by the end of this month.
Comprehensive testing will also be conducted for local companies.
The county will check the infection status of 166 workers at three locations including Bohae Brewery Co., Ltd. and Dongwon Home Food.
During the enforcement period of the quarantine reinforcement measures, major tourist attractions and facilities will also be closed.
Operations will be suspended at six facilities within Hong Gil-dong Theme Park, including Jangseongho Lakeside Trail, Submerged Culture Center, and Im Kwon-taek Cinematheque.
Public transportation facilities such as terminals, buses, taxis, and Jangseong Station will undergo daily quarantine rule inspections and disinfection.
Traditional markets will actively promote social distancing guidelines and provide quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers.
For entertainment facilities, a joint police task force will be formed to inspect compliance with quarantine rules and confirm the cessation of operations after 10 p.m.
County libraries (Central, Samgye, Buk-i) and youth facilities (Youth Training Center, Youth Counseling Welfare Center) will limit the number of users to 70% capacity and thoroughly check quarantine rules and disinfect facilities.
Local academies and private institutes will be managed through joint inspections with the Jangseong Office of Education.
